FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) ABOUT BLUE CHIP GROWTH

I just read my first Blue Chip Growth issue: What stocks should I buy first?

Before you start buying, you have to ask yourself: What is your risk tolerance level? Are you comfortable owning aggressive stocks with enormous potential but very high volatility? Or do you prefer owning more conservative stocks that may not give you the explosive returns, yet are more stable? You have to decide for yourself where you are: Every investor has a different risk profile. Personally, I'm a very aggressive investor; nevertheless, I'm not you.

In order to satisfy the different needs of investors, I've divided all of my recommended stocks into three different categories: conservative, moderately aggressive and aggressive. Use these designations as a guide when building your own portfolio. I recommend that the average investor should have 60% of his or her portfolio in conservative stocks, 30% in moderately aggressive stocks and 10% in aggressive stocks. Also keep in mind, the more stocks you own, the less risky your portfolio will tend to be.

Each month I'll select 5 stocks from the portfolio that I'll designate as the Top 5 for that month. Those should be the first ones to consider; again keep in mind what risk category they're in.

Do I have to buy all your stocks?

Not at all. I recommend investors own at least 12 stocks in their portfolio. That way you can spread your risk around. The key is diversity, not total number of stocks. If you can't own 12 stocks, then I recommend you use mutual funds to help you diversify.

What if a stock I own has gone above your "buy below" price?

When that happens, the stock is then a hold--not a sell. The "buy below" price is not a sell price target. I change the "buy below" prices each month. When I want you to sell, I will specifically tell you to "SELL."

How often will you give us Hotlines?

I'll give you a Hotline every Saturday by 1 p.m. Eastern time. I'll also do a Hotline whenever the market swings by more than 200 points on the Dow or 100 points on the NASDAQ. Those special Hotlines will be done by 7 p.m. Eastern time. If the market swings more than 200 Dow points or 100 NASDAQ points on a Friday, I won't do a Hotline that evening, but you can hear my comments the next day on the regular Saturday Hotline.

When is the Hotline posted on the Web site?

The Hotline will always be posted by the opening bell of the next business day.

What does "near term" mean?

On the Hotline, when I say that a stock "looks good in the near term," I'm referring to a time horizon of one week.

Where can I find the current PIN number?

The current PIN will be emailed to you monthly. The PIN will always be the same for the Blue Chip Growth Web site and the telephone Hotline (301/838-7020).

How can I read my newsletter online?

You have two ways to read the current issue of Blue Chip Growth. First, listed under the section titled "Current Advice," you will find the articles in the current newsletter separated out individually. This lets you go directly to the articles of most interest to you.

Second, you can view and print the entire newsletter by clicking on "View/Print Entire Issue" under the "Current Advice" section. If you wish to print out current and previous issues, you'll need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and operating. (If you don't have it, click on the link provided to download the program for free.)

Finally, if you wish to read individual articles from previous issues of Blue Chip Growth, please click on "Previous Advice" under the "Current Advice" section. You'll find a chronological listing of previous articles that you can read and print out.

Remember, you will need the current PIN number to access the articles.

What day of the month is the newsletter posted to the Web site?

We tend to follow a fairly regular schedule. The issue is almost always posted to the site on the fourth Monday of each month. Sometimes, we'll alter it at the last minute (i.e., due to a Fed meeting or a holiday), but the fourth Monday of the month is the typical schedule.

How do I look up stock quotes?

The stock quote lookup feature is located in the top right hand corner of the Web page.

What's the difference between Blue Chip Growth and your other newsletter, MPT Review?

MPT Review (MPT stands for Modern Portfolio Theory) follows a more aggressive investing style. I recommend much smaller companies in it. In Blue Chip Growth, I follow the S&P 500 plus about 200 additional mid- and large-cap companies. You can get more information on MPT Review at www.mptreview.com.

How can I contact you with questions?

You can send me an email about any questions you have about my advice by clicking on the link on the right hand side of the main page, under the section titled "Ask Louis." Please be aware that I can't answer each question personally, and due to SEC regulations I cannot offer personal portfolio advice. However, I consider all questions and concerns when I write each newsletter and record each Hotline.

Who do I contact with questions or problems about my subscription, or to change my mail or email address?

Click "Customer Service" on the left side of the main page and send our customer service representatives an email. They'll respond to you shortly.
